Chief Medical Officer’s Annual Report Published
The Chief Medical Officer's Annual Report, which briefs Scottish Ministers on the health of the Nation, has been published. The report, for 2006, focuses on the significance of the first few years of life as a basis for subsequent health and wellbeing in adulthood.
The majority of the report concentrates on the risks to the physical and mental health of young people and highlights how these can be tackled. It also contains an insight into suggestions for possible new approaches to the management of health inequalities and improvement to health which are very much based on concepts of child development.
