Net Gains: Shaping the future of children's mental health
Wednesday 6th June, 2007
Glasgow Thistle Hotel, Cambridge Street, Glasgow G2 3HN
Across Scotland people are actively working to implement fundamental change in services affecting the mental health and well-being of children and young people. There are a number of existing networks and many local initiatives that are driving forward real change. This event is designed to bring people together to explore how the different activities can best compliment each, as we continue to evolve processes and structures that more effectively support change. It will build on the work to date of the collaborative network on FPPC implementation, the clinical leads network and others with a view to identifying common themes and activities.
The event will offer a chance to look at how people are approaching similar work in different ways, provide space to reflect on achievements, learn from each other, improve links, exchange information and resources and shape the way that support for implementation is developed in the future.
With speakers from the Scottish Executive, the National Programme for Improving Mental Health and Well-being and the Children & Young People's Health Support Group the latest thinking at national level will be presented.Workshops will encourage exploration of how that national picture inter-relates with the work at a local level to improve outcomes for children and young people and how the communication channels between the various networks and agencies involved can be enhanced. This is a unique practical opportunity to shape the future and to contribute to make sure you make the connections you need to succeed.
Who should attend?
Members of the CAMHS Clinical Leads Network, the Collaborative Network on implementation of the Framework for Promotion, Prevention and Care and the Primary Mental Health Workers network, together with representatives of the Health Promoting Schools network, Young Scotland in Mind and Community Health Partnerships along with Child Health Commissioners and Chairs of Children's Services Planning Groups.
