Samaritans To Undertake Two Focus Groups In Scotland

Kinbank has been commissioned by Samaritans to undertake two Focus Groups in Scotland, to help them in their strategic development and delivery of services.

The intention is to recruit focus group members from three specific groups:

  • People who experience depression
  • People who self harm
  • People who are affected by the suicide of someone else.

Attendees will be discussing topics such as:

  • Perceptions of Samaritans
  • Any barriers that may exist to using Samaritans services
  • Are there things Samaritans could do better?

Participants do not have to have had contact with Samaritans and individuals will not be asked if they have personally contacted Samaritans.

It is anticipated that the focus groups will take place in both in Edinburgh and Glasgow in late October 2008. An attendance fee of £10 in either cash or vouchers will be paid to participants along with travel costs. However, if travelling from distance this should be confirmed in advance with Kinbank.

Persons wanting to participate should contact Simon Little simon@kinbank.org to discuss attendance.
