Sexual Abuse Service Development Fund (SASDF): Grants Available
Funding is now available for organisations wishing to apply to help forward existing services, or to develop more innovative approaches in helping the prevention and counselling of childhood sexual abuse. Guidance notes and application forms are attached below.
The Scottish Executive is committed to breaking the silence that survivors have experienced for so long. The National Strategy for Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse which was launched by the Deputy Health Minister in September 2005 is a demonstration of that commitment, and of the Executive’s awareness that the health and well-being of survivors can be damaged when their needs are not properly recognised or responded to. A reference group, led by 2 professionals is taking this work forward.
The actions set out in the strategy will help to make sure that the needs of survivors of childhood sexual abuse are recognised and met in the future. Further details on the strategy are available at survivorscotland.org.uk.
If you have any questions about the strategy or need help with the form please contact either jeannie.hunter@scotland.gsi.gov.uk or Peter Kelly at peter.kelly@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.
Applications should be directed to Peter and further contact details are detailed on the form.
The closing date for applications is 30 March 2007
