Right Here Initiative

A multi-million pound initiative to identify new approaches to preventing mental health problems arising among 16- to 25-year-olds is to take place over the next five years. The Right Here initiative, run by the Mental Health Foundation and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, will explore new ways of providing mental health services for young adults through a series of pilot projects across the UK.

The foundation is looking to fund four or five pilots that will test different approaches to preventing mental ill health among young adults. The foundation is looking for voluntary sector-led projects that work with all young people and link together different services.

Each of the pilots, which include one web-based project, will receive £200,000 a year in funding until 2013. An evaluation of the work will be conducted through the project and a youth advisory board is being set up so young people have a say in how Right Here develops.
