Suicide Alertness For Everyone Training for Trainers


safeTALK Training for Trainers prepares partcicpants to deliver half day Suicide Alertness for Everyone (safeTALK). The T4T consists of pre-session work and a one-day (9 hour) onsite orientation provided by one safeTALK instructor. There is a focus on a positive learning environment, encouragement of open and honest talk, respect for differences and support of each other and active participation. The success of a trainer is greatly enhanced by a combination of skills and characteristics such as:

  • available with dedicated time to deliver training
  • flexible attitude about suicide,
  • good interpersonal communication and helping skills,
  • suicide intervention skills,
  • knowledge about suicide,
  • established teaching and group leadership skills.
