26th SeptemberInfo Pack for WMHD (World Mental Health Day) Added to Resource Database A pack is now available from WFMH (World Federation for Mental Health) about World Mental Health Day, October 10 2006. They have chosen "Building Awareness - Reducing Risk: Mental Illness and Suicide" as the theme. There are some really good handouts about the relationship between suicide and mental health problems, suicide and mental ill heath across the life span, how suicide can be reduced for people with mental health problems and key messages. 20th September"Living With Suicide - A Support Workers' Guide" Added to Resource Database Cruse Bereavement Scotland has released a new training pack. This pack aims to help support workers understand the impact of suicide, and how to feel more confident in supporting people bereaved by suicide.
"Help Is At Hand" by the Department Of Health Added to Resource Database 'Help Is At Hand' is a resource for people bereaved by suicide and other traumatic death. It also provides information for healthcare and other professionals who come into contact with bereaved people. This is a UK-Wide resource and SAMH in partnership with Choose Life, has produced a similar document "After a Suicide", specific to scotland. This is also available in the Resource Database.

14th SeptemberScottish Executive Announces Small Research Grants Competition The Scottish Executive's Mental Health Division has pleasure in announcing the third run of the Small Research Projects Initiative. All applications must be received by Wednesday 11 October by 5pm.
