Suicide Information Research and Evidence Network (SIREN)
SIREN aims to increase understanding of suicide and its prevention through information sharing and networking, and ultimately to create a Scottish association for the study of suicide.
Through its activities, SIREN aims to:
- provide opportunities to meet others with a shared interest;
- minimise duplication of research effort, and promote collaboration where appropriate;
- build research capacity;
- disseminate and discuss research findings and activity; and
- help engender evidence-based policy and practice.
See the original SIREN Position Paper from 2005 for more background information.
To help put people in touch with others holding a shared interest, SIREN stakeholders are asked to provide biographical information on their suicide-related interests and publications.
This Who's Who combines a range of interests and expertise in suicide prevention and evidence and was updated in February 2008.
